Ever wanted to play alongside Rustie (Warp/UK) in one of Vienna’s best clubs?
We’ve teamed up with the upcoming Waves Festival Vienna to host an international DJ Contest on Play.fm.
Waves Vienna is the city’s first club- and showcase festival. After last year’s success the Festival takes a second go-around this autumn (October 4 – 7th) with a great line-up hosted in Vienna’s most significant clubs (Pratersauna, Flex, Fluc Wanne) as well as unique off-locations.
They are still missing one DJ who takes the slot before Rustie’s headliner set at the Opening Party on October 4th at Vienna’s infamous Pratersauna (2nd place “Best Club 2011” De:Bug readers poll).
The good news is: this DJ could be YOU.
HOW TO ENTER
- Upload a Studio Mix of no more than 30-60 minutes on Play.fm until Sunday, September 23rd, 2012, 23:59 CET
- Name your Mix „Waves DJ Contest 2012“
- Your mix must be tagged under „Waves DJ Contest“ using the “Tags/Styles” field.
- Failing to do so will result in your mix being left out of the contest.
- Include the contest cover image provided here
- Fill in your Play.fm Artist Page (eg. Photo, Links, Genres)
VOTING / JURY PHASE
- All correctly uploaded mixes received before the deadline will be eligible to compete to be among the Top 20 mixes with the most listeners/listening time and most social media activity (eg. Facebook Likes/Tweets/+1’s)
- Remember to submit your mix as early as possible to give yourself enough time to promote it.
- The Top 20 shortlisted mixes (due date Monday, September 24th, 9am CET) will be judged by a jury consisting of Play.fm and Waves Festival.
- The Top 20 shortlisted mixes will be judged by a jury consisting of Play.fm and Waves Festival.
- Judgement will include several quality factors such as originality, track selection and technical expertise (skills).
- Contest Winner will be announced by Friday, September 28th

- 1 DJ Set at Pratersauna Vienna, playing a Warm Up set for Rustie (Warp/UK), at the Waves Festival 2012 Opening Party on Thursday, October 4th.

2nd & 3rd Prize

TERMS & CONDITIONS
- The Waves Festival DJ Contest is open internationally
- Contest Deadline is Sunday, September 23rd, 12am CET
- By entering this competition you acknowledge your availability from October 3rd to October 5th, to perform at the Waves Festival opening party at Pratersauna Vienna/Austria
- Failure to use the correct tag, title, and cover image will see your mix disqualified
- It is not allowed to enter the contest with an old mix (rename, change tags) already existing on Play.fm. The Uploading date has to be between August 27th – September 23rd.
- We will not tolerate “spammy” behavior in order to promote your mix on the Play.fm platform
- Do not send your DJ set directly to Waves Festival or Play.fm (E-mail, CD, DL link)
- No legal recourse. The judges’ decisions are final
- There is no cash alternative and the prizes are non-transferable
